GSC Game Plan returns to airwaves for football season
January 8, 2007
Fans of Arkansas' Division II colleges have plenty to talk about in the
coming basketball season, and now they'll have a place to do it as the
popular GSC Game Plan radio show returns every Monday through the
end of February. The hour long call-in show features interviews with
coaches and sports experts from across the south, and also recaps game
action from the previous week. The show airs in Arkansas on the 100,000
watt KABZ 103.7 FM, and on the internet at www.1037thebuzz.com.
Longtime media personalities Grant Merrill and Rex Nelson return for
hosting duties. They will be joined in the basketball season by television
broadcaster Jim Cavale, who will join live from the Gulf South Conference
headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Outside of the weekly show, Merrill
and Nelson carry play-by-play duties for the four-station Ouachita Baptist
Tiger Network, while Cavale serves as sideline reporter for the weekly
GSC TV Live football game of the week.
"We are delighted by the resumption of the weekly GSC radio show," said
GSC Commissioner Nate Salant." "The response to our fall programming
was terrific, and we expect more of the same during our usual heated,
intensely competitive basketball season en route to the Championship
Tournaments at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi." Grant
and Rex did a great job and we're looking forward to more of the same
beginning this Monday." Adding Jim Cavale, our sideline reporter and GSC
SportsWeekly web-tv host, as a regular will make the show even better."
"We are proud to expand our coverage of the Gulf South Conference
schools during the week." said KABZ Program Director Justin Acri. The
show was a hit with listeners during football season, and we fully expect to
capture great results for basketball as well!"
The show is produced by Little Rock based Sportstar Management,
LLC and airs Monday nights during the basketball season from 7-8 PM.
